Wendy Luxe began organically during my time as a graduate student having just moved from Nigeria to the US. While navigating the challenges of a limited graduate assistant budget, I sought high-quality hair products that wouldn’t break the bank. That quest for affordable quality led me to delve into the world of sourcing products and sparked the idea of starting a small side business.
With just a few hundred dollars in investment, I began experimenting with different products, rigorously testing their quality. I initiated sales from the trunk of my car, reaching out to friends, community networks, and online marketplaces. The overwhelming demand I encountered became the catalyst for a pivotal decision – the evolution from a small-scale venture to a full-fledged e-commerce business.
